NEW NVP SERMON VIDEO FOR MARCH 30 - "THE GLORY OF LIFE BEYOND"25-03-2016
For Wednesday March 30 we have selected a Easter sermon by Dr. Peale - The Glory of Life Beyond" Dr. Peale once wrote: "I remember when my dear mother died in a little town in upstate New York. We took her body back to Ohio for burial. On the journey we had to change trains at Buffalo. As I was walking down the platform I saw on a truck the shadowy outlines of a box. I walked over, almost fearing to read what was there. It said, 'Remains of Anna Peale.' That was a rather crude statement, and it might have stuck me as repulsive. But the more I thought about it, the more it carried a glorius message to me: what was in that box was merely the physical form that I loved and my brothers loved and my father loved and many people loved. But my mother herself was not there. And when I walked out of the cemetery in Lynchburg, Ohio, having left her body there, these words from the Gospel of Luke rang through my mind: "Why are you looking in the place of the dead for the living?" (Luke 24:5) In this world of mortality, Easter comes with its glorious message that when mortal life is finished here in Christ, greater glories open up than we ever dreamed of. In that place there is no ephasis at all on deacy and death, but only life and hope, of which Easter is a symbol." Join us on March 30 for the video "The Glory of Life Beyond." The video will be shown throughout the day from 11:30am-3pm. The museum and prayer chapel will be open all day as well. | Bookmark
