NEW NVP VIDEO FOR JUNE 1, "DON'T BE AFRAID YOPU'RE NOT ALONE"25-05-2016
Dr. Peale once wrote, "Everywhere we look we find all these fears about many things. What are you afraid of? Sometimes when I satnd in the pulpit and look out over a big congregation of fine, intelligent people, I could almost swear that everybody present is inwardly confident and calm. But I know that if you could gather together all the fears lurking behind those impassive faces, you would have a great load of fear. I've often thought it would be wonderful if we could have two collections at each church service. The first would be the usual collection of money. Then, if such a thing were feasible, I'd have verybody come up and lay their fear on the altar and leave it there with God. Or maybe we could have the ushers go down the aisles and take up all the fears. They could never do it with the little plates we use for collecting money. They would have to have huge baskets and by the time they had received all the fears, they'd be staggering under the weight of them. Then I would say, "Let's stand and sing." Nobaody would have to be told what to sing. Everybody would feel so free and released that the whole congregation would burst out singing, "PRAISE GOD FROM WHOM ALL BLESSING FLOW" so joyously it would knock the church roof off." Jesus said, "Don't be afraid, only believe." (Mark 5:36) Join us on June 1 and learn how to overcome fear. The exhibits and Pryaer Chapel will also be open all day. | Bookmark
